Napoleon Hendrix III is the Director of Development at the Center for Arms Control and Non-Proliferation. He previously served as the manager of Donor Relations and Donor Services for the national headquarters of the American Red Cross from 2001 to 2007. During his tenure, he developed and implemented donor acknowledgement, recognition and stewardship standards and procedures, and numerous donor programs, including an online recognition program and a donor issue resolution call team which set the standard for donor support at the organization.
Hendrix has had a long career in fundraising, serving at the University of California, Irvine from 1986 to 2000 in the positions of Donor Relations Manager (1996-2000), Development Director for endowed scholarships (1993-1995), and Prospect Research Manager (1986-1992). He began his career as an Associate Writer of Research at UCLA in 1982.
Hendrix served two terms on the board of APRA. He is a former board member of ADRP, and he is a founding member of CARA. He is the recipient of the APRA Distinguished Service Award (2002) as well as the recipient of the CARA Distinguished Service Award (2002).
